Several years ago, I tried an experiment in veganism, not for any moral or ethical reason, because I have no problem eating animals, but rather for economic benefits, and to acquire some new culinary skills. Grains and pulses are basically free, and cooking using only plants can be tricky! Eating vegan was absolutely cheaper in terms of ingredients, but the sanctimony of vegan cookbook writers irritated the crap out of me. Not every vegan writer is a smug jerk, and I found one team of male vegans who are actually fabulous. If you are interested in giving veganism a try, I highly recommend these books:
Based on reading cookbooks only, it comes as no surprise to me that the YouTube shooter is a vegan. I imagine if I tried digesting some of the philosophy or ethical offerings of veganism, I would be even less surprised. Vegans are colossal assholes, which is both sad and counterproductive to their stated aims, and there is no necessary reason for vegans to be such jerks. Veganism, for whatever reason, attracts those with a totalitarian mindset, because it offers a place for dogma to flourish.
Animals are majestic creatures that deserve the right to life, free of suffering and harm.
What? Lol. Animals in a state of nature are known as food to other animals. That’s the way nature works. Also, some animals are bigger jerks than vegans, and deserve to be eaten. Turkeys are not regal, noble creatures. They are stupid and mean and can quite easily grow big enough to hurt a small adult or child. There is a good reason we eat turkeys. Cows are not loving, docile creatures. They are morons who will happily destroy an environment, unless a pack of predators gets to them first. They will also kick you in the face. Pigs might be smart, but they are destructive as hell, and don’t even get me started on goats. Baby goats are cute as pie, but adult goats are good for curry and not much else.
And I hate to break it to vegans, but no human, and certainly no animal, is owed a right to life, free from suffering and harm. Also, who thinks most vegans support abortion and see no contradiction at all?
Veganism promotes the worst kind of slavish devotion, because it is comprised so much of ‘received truth’ – things that cannot be questioned. You have to hand it to adherents for successfully promoting a vegan diet as ‘healthy’, all while requiring artificial supplements of Vitamin B because they fail to consume animal products. A diet that requires artificial supplementation by definition is neither complete nor healthy.
I’ve come to accept that some minds are bent in such a way that dogma is all but inevitable, and those minds, quite frankly, terrify me. Feminists are superb examples. In order to believe their doctrine, they must believe that throughout all of human history, men have hated and wished to oppress women, and managed to express this hatred by assuming all the hardest labor for themselves while protecting women from as much as possible. Virtually all of human society and culture venerates, celebrates and pays homage to women, who need do nothing more than merely exist to justify such esteem. Men have somehow loved their mothers, adored their daughters, protected their sisters, cared for their wives and allowed women and children to go first, yet men hate women, at the same time.
Or, you know, feminists are fucked in the head.
Feminists are women who can’t think very well, and so they turn to dogma to save themselves the trouble. Religious zealots are the same. Thinking is hard, so let’s just slavishly adhere to such-and-such doctrine, which then becomes dogma.
Vegans are in that camp, too.
The idea that vegans promote a lifestyle that is cruelty free is another example of dogmatic horse dung. Ever seen a warren filled with baby rabbits ploughed under to grow lentils? Not pretty. And did you know plants cry out to one another, enzymatically, when one of them is disturbed?
The YouTube shooter was allegedly angry that her animal rights activism was demonitized by YouTube, which is clearly censorious and unfair, as she is merely promoting peace, love and acceptance, and to prove it, she picked up a gun and pumped bullets into human beings.I hope no plants were injured in the process. I really don’t like vegans. I kind of understand the anger at YouTube, because in reality, they are censorious asshats who promote only one view of the world, but the crazy vegan shooter is a bit much even for me. What the hell is wrong with vegans?
Why do they hate plants so much anyways?
Lots of love,
