Left-wing journalist Dale Lately contacted me via email to request an interview about my experience vlogging on YouTube. I do not have a big YouTube presence, so the request is a bit strange. Why not ask Sargon of Akkad? Thunderf00t? Shoe0nHead? Evalion? Bearing? They all have much bigger followings than me. Who knows? Maybe Dale Lately did request interviews from them, but is not influential enough to warrant their attention? I have no idea. Lately is very much to the left, but doesn’t appear to be utterly insane, like so many left wing journos. His material is reasonably balanced, based on my limited exploration. Correct me if I’m wrong, but glancing over his blog, we clearly disagree ideologically, but he doesn’t seem to be an incoherently raging wingnut who can’t support his positions and throws tantrums when challenged.
So I sent him a contact request on Skype. He called me on Election Day, and I was jubilant that day. I knew Trump was going to win, and Dale’s interview request came across to me as audacious. Fuck you, Dale. Fuck you Slate, the Guardian, Vice, Huffington Post – all the biased, stupid, petty, petulant rags Dale writes for. Got a Breitbart credit, Dale? No? That’s too bad.
To his credit, Dale remained professional and courteous in the face of my rudeness, and sent me a list of questions via email. I am going to answer those questions here and now, and link Dale to the responses, which he is free to use on his platforms, which are much, much bigger than mine.
What’s been your experience as a vlogger? How did you get to this point of having several thousand subscribers?
My experience has been quite pleasant overall, although I don’t really enjoy watching or creating video commentary. I am a bit vain, and dislike the preparation that goes into making a video in terms of how I look. I am repeatedly assured via various social media platforms that I am old, ugly, fat, hideous, decrepit, a slut, a whore, a cow, a cunt – all manner of insults (mostly from women, which is par for the course on social media, I should note), but I’m not any of those things. Well, I can be a cunt. That’s true. While I consider my content to be compelling, the medium, as the saying goes, is the message. Images matter. Appearances matter. How I look on video is not irrelevant, and it occupies a portion of time I would rather invest somewhere else, really.
My subscriber count grew organically. I have done nothing in particular to promote my channel, other than to link it to my social media platforms.
Why do you do it?
Well, I find myself interesting and I think other people should, too. Lol. I’m only being a bit facetious here. I can put into words thoughts and ideas and feelings that many, if not most, people share. You live in a little liberal bubble that didn’t see Brexit or Trump coming, right? You indicate as much in this article you wrote for the Huffington Post. I live in reality, with real people who have real problems and real struggles. Please allow me to be clear – I do not have any real problems or struggles. As a middle-class housewife who is under no obligation to support myself or the three children my husband and I have, I am one of the most privileged women to ever have lived. You need to hit the level of royalty before you find women as pampered as me. I am not oppressed. I do not experience misogyny, harassment or subjugation and it is beyond ridiculous for anyone to suggest that I do. Female privilege defines modern society. Women have most, if not all, the real power: to destroy another person’s life and happiness.
And yet, feminists caterwaul incessantly about a non-existent wage gap, including my life in their statistics. I work ZERO hours, and to use the incredible privilege and luxury of my existence as evidence that women are oppressed and hated angers me deeply. I despise feminists and feminism for their misogyny. No one hates women more than feminists hate women. You may find my speech at the Second International Conference on Men’s Issues, held this past summer in the UK, of value in understanding what I mean when I say feminists are misogynists.
Tell me a bit about yourself… work/family/etc?
I am a 37 year old wife and mother. I have been married for 16 years and we have three children, who are 14, 11 and 8 years of age. I have an undergraduate degree in film theory from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA in International Business and Strategy from the University of Victoria. I completed the literature review portion of my PhD in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (published), but opted not to pursue the degree since I really don’t want to be a professor and our family does not need the money. I am content to be a wife and mother and blogger.
What do you think about the US election?
I knew that Donald Trump was going to win because he represents the power, control, mastery and efficacy of patriarchy under enlightened white males. Did you just have a heart attack, Dale? Trump is a man, and does not appear the slightest bit inclined to put up with the pathetic mewling of pampered women who think they’re oppressed or the whining of lesser men who reject the standards of traditional masculinity because hitting them is hard work and they’d rather not. You might like my video on why men should vote for Trump. Apparently, I was right.
Both men and women voted to bring back patriarchy. It’s kind of interesting, because feminists want patriarchy, too. They are angry little girls who don’t understand their own desires. I think they can mostly thank their single mothers for that.
Do you think the mainstream media has got it wrong? Do you think you offer an alternative?
Gosh, ya think? Yes, I offer an alternative. The entire alt-right is an alternative to the totalitarian, fascist, controlling, virtue signalling program of the left. The left doesn’t care about justice. It cares about the appearance of justice. It is an attempt to answer some profound questions all humans face sooner or later: Am I a good person? What is a good person? Has my life had meaning? Do I matter?
From my perspective, people who tend towards the far left and the far right are lazy assholes looking for shortcut answers to difficult questions. Saying “I am a good person because I am not racist” is as logically invalid as saying “I am a good person because I am (insert preferred race here)”. Black Lives Matter and White Supremacists are twin sides to the same coin. Think through that, Dale, before you write that I claimed white supremacists and black activists are equivalent. I did no such thing. I am giving you the rope you need to hang yourself. Do feel free to use it.
Do you see yourself as a kind of broadcaster? What does the influence you have mean to you?
No, not really. I don’t reach a large enough audience to consider myself a broadcaster. I’m more like the crazy homeless lady yelling at pigeons in the park at this stage of the game. I think I am yelling interesting and valid things, but that doesn’t change the basic structure of the game. Ann Coulter is a broadcaster. Breitbart is a broadcaster. Slate is a broadcaster (of egregious bullshit, but that’s another matter). I am just a mouthy blogger with some salty attitudes and the free time to share them.
Should I gain significant influence, my mission will be simple. Repeal the 19th Amendment. Turn back women’s suffrage. I don’t think there is any other way to save Western civilization from collapse. The Trump election gave me hope – 53% of white women voted for him. White women get it. But once white women are the minority, then what? Women should not vote. Here is a video you might enjoy on that subject.
How long do you see yourself doing this? What are your plans for the future?
Good question. I don’t know. I will be attending the 3rd International Conference on Men’s Issues in Australia in 2017, laying out a comprehensive justification for why women’s suffrage should be repealed across the entire Western world. That should be interesting. So far, the refutations to my various arguments have been some variation of ‘kill yourself you stupid whore’. Now that’s the crushing grip of reason! I am a practicing martial artist, growing more skilled with each passing day, and I no longer fear physical confrontations. Death threats do not frighten me. Cyber violence makes me laugh.
Hope that answers your questions, Dale. Feel free to use what you like.
Lots of love,
