It’s that time of year again – my husband’s best friend from college is visiting with his 4 children, and since the guys rarely get to spend any time together, I will be mustering the troops – all seven of them – and keeping them busy while Tim and Ken watch a lot of retarded TV, drink a lot of beer and catch up on all the things they’ve missed in each other’s lives.
I actually kind of enjoy traipsing around town with seven children (3 boys, 4 girls) in tow. It makes me feel like Maria Von Trapp, although my vocal cords aren’t quite up to Maria’s level of snuff, and the children would likely drown me in the river if I insisted on singing while they hunt Pokemon. I would have made a good mother for a large brood. Not having at least four children, and possibly more, is shaping up to be one of my life regrets, but as far as regrets go, that’s a good one.
Oh, and today is my 16th wedding anniversary! I woke up and wished my husband happy anniversary, which is some kind of record for me – I always forget our anniversary! – and he said, “16 years. It feels like only five or six …. hundred.”
Yeah, he’s very romantic that way.
So this week may be a little slow on the blogging front. I’ll try and post at least a few articles I think you might find interesting with some brief commentary, but I doubt I will manage much more than that.
I’ve got meals and snacks to plan and make, my laundry pile just exploded and the dishes will never be done.
And I love it.
Lots of love,
